Day One: All the Excitement

This is really day 2, but there was just no way we were going to get anything up on day 1.

We made it! This website will host pictures and stories of our journey's down here. Some of you are viewing this thinking, who cares!? Well, don't subscribe to the newsletter. Everyone else, there is a mail chimp newsletter that will go out once we update the site, so you don't have to constantly check the site. We were going to implement our own newsletter, with a neat little signup sheet, but it was a lot of work and configuration of perl and/or php scripts and frankly, I have many other things to do (like try and configure perl and php scripts on the rest of my computer). But we are here safely, enjoying the digs. More pics and stories to come soon.

Oliver

WE MADE IT! We arrived safely after putting 900 miles on the trusty UHaul. Oliver and I decided that many of our friends and family might be interested to know about whats going on in our lives while we are in San Jose (and some may not). But, to keep the curious entertained, we will try and give updates on what's happening and any life changes that occur. For example: What will Hannah be doing? How does Oliver like his new job? What is his new job? and all of the other ups and downs. So far it has been mostly good. I am very thankful and appreciative of my Dad for all of his help getting us down here (He drove the UHaul the whole way). It has been hard and we definately miss family and friends. We are so greatful for all of the help, support, and love that has been given to us throughout our lives and this moving process and we would not be the people we are or where we are without it.
We are excited for the adventures to come. The first will be on Wednesday when we venture over to Capitola (on the coast) for Olivers appointment at the DMV to become a true Californian. More updates and pictures of the apartment to come (we need to finish unpacking first...).

Love and miss you all,
Hannah

America's Scenic Rest Stops: Oliver clearly needs a haircut...some very windy rest stop in what looks like California.

Eez day 1

This is what an empty U-Haul looks like:
